Chile: An Emerging Market for Floating Photovoltaic Energy
The webinar ‘Chile: An emerging market for floating photovoltaic energy’ was held on Tuesday 17 June, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m., highlighting Chile's potential in this innovative field. The event aimed to promote the FloatingPV technology and explore the opportunities Chile offers for its implementation, the technical potential of which is estimated at between 6.3 and 16.6 GWp according to a study by Fraunhofer Chile Research. This initiative is aligned with an innovation fund launched in early June by Chile's National Irrigation Commission (CNR).
Contents:
- Presentation of the Evaporation Module in the AgroSolar Explorer, by the Ministry of Energy, together with the Diego Portales University.
- Presentation of the CNR Competitive Fund, which includes floating photovoltaic technology.
- Pitch by three international companies that provide floating photovoltaic energy solutions (Isigenere, Zimmermann and Landatu).
The meeting was organised within the framework of the GIZ Energy Partnership Chile-Alemania, on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE), in collaboration with the Chilean Ministry of Energy and the Chilean National Irrigation Commission.
